An international cycle race,will be held here on August 29,Asian second mega international cycling event- Gitanjali tour De Delhi - Cyclothoin 2010 to be held at Barakhamba Road on 29 August 29,2010 under the category 1.2 of Asia tour within the aegis of International Cycling Union { UCI} a test event for the cycling competition of the ensuing Commonwealth Games.


Gitanjali Tour de Delhi -- Cyclothon 2010, the banner to have sixteen International participation teams from Germany, Holland and Belgium. CWG cycling test event on August 29 with caption "Burn Fat, Not Fuel" will follow the same route,earmarked for all cycling races for the Games of the 100-km Elite international race. At National level the 65-km race will see competition among Indian cyclists from 22 states.

Winner to get training for participation in the CW Games.The race and selection of riders approved and governed by International Cycling Unions (UCI).

Mr S Dhindsa,President CFI commented on this occasions, "After the success of Tour De Mumbia,we are delighted to conduct an International racing event in the national capital which will be flag off for Delhi Commonwealth games 2010"

Further added that," CFI is all set to promote cycling as a serious sports in India."
